Warning: Serious Meatporn Ahead

The Butcher by Niku Steakhouse and its sister restaurant Niku Steakhouse have just joined the block party of high quality restaurants all owned by Kash Feng on the same block in San Francisco, which also include the new Udon Time, Dumpling Time, Omakase and Okane.

Home chefs will be delighted with the selection of meat here, which ranges from $6.99 to $129.99 per pound. I brought home one of the bestselling bargains of the house, four luscious hamburger patties comprised of 60% American Wagyu beef and 40% Japanese Wagyu beef ($8 each), plus some rendered Wagyu fat, to cook them in for a lovely dinner. I rarely prepare meat at home, but this is one of those places where an exception is gladly made.

In the future, the Butcher will be home to intimate, invitation-only tasting menus that showcase the jewels that are found here.
