Three Words: Lobster Bottle Service

Three Words: Lobster Bottle Service

WORDS BY TAMARA PALMER/PHOTOS BY MARC KHARRAT FOR FOODBEAST

I wrote a love letter to the minds behind Foodbeast and told them that I think they’re geniuses for coming up with Nood Beach, a noodle and music festival featuring Snoop Dogg in his DJ Snoopadelic guise, my friend E-40 and Dash Berlin taking place on September 1 at SeaLegs on the Beach, located on Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach.

The event features more than 20 vendors showing off their best Gram-worthy noods, outrageous eating competitions and even a “Mukbanging Stage” that pays tribute to mukbang, the art of a social mass eating broadcast. But the real ballers will be getting lobster bottle service with 15-pound lobsters and an embarrassment of noods.

I always look for the intersection of food and music culture and anyone who knows me understands how this event was made for me, a weird music writer disguised as a food writer who has been writing about Snoop and E-40 for decades, and I’m looking forward to taking hundreds of photos there for a future print issue of California Eating. Read my most recent feature on Earl Stevens’ conquering of the beverage world and my classic interview with Snoop, Nate Dogg, Warren G and their favorite high school teacher.
