Getting Sloppy @ Found Oyster

BY TAMARA PALMER

We needed a ton of napkins when going to town at Found Oyster in Los Angeles, which offers an array of raw seafood as well as oysters including stock from the Orleans, MA family oyster farm of general manager Joe Laraja. Hearing that it was a popular place, strolling in right when they open at 4 p.m. is the move.

Everything tasted pristine and the staff told us they were excited for us when we tried adventurous items like the uni service (soy sauced uni with wasabi and rice puffs) and a fancy fried halibut sandwich with a Green Goddess-esque dressing and trout roe, which was a special a few weeks ago and has hopefully earned heavy rotation. A heaping portion of crisp frites is perfect no matter what else you order.

And focusing on oysters is a good idea — we tried an array of raw ones in the Baywatch Platter as well as a plate of fried oysters that will make you feel again.
